![]() My preference would be to rig the set up with LED lights instead. As an 18+ set, I don’t think most adults like the play feature of being able to turn the light on and off. I think we could have done without it and saved a few dollars on the set or added another minifigure or two in. The back also points out that a light brick is included.īefore moving on, I’ll just say I’m not sure the light brick really adds anything to this build. The back, upper left shows how the set is built like a modular in that you can remove the different levels and the roof to have access to the internal details. The back shows off some of the details of the set. The front shows the full set with all of the minifigures. My set box got a bit beat up in shipping, but I can’t complain. With 2,164 pieces it works out to $0.069 per piece which isn’t bad. I was not a day one buyer when it was released on 2 February 2021, but I grabbed one when it was available with a good gift with purchase. I was definitely impressed when I saw #21325-1: Medieval Blacksmith be released as Ideas set #33. I recall having a few knights, a glow in the dark ghost, and some horses. Medieval Blacksmith also comes with the first recognizably female Black Falcon Knight.I was not a big Castle theme fan as a kid, although I did have a few small sets. Additionally, gone are the simple smiley faces of old. The logo remains recognizable but includes a bit more detail. This iteration features a bit of an update though. ![]() Granted, I also had several other types growing up. Speaking of the knights, the Black Falcons included hold a lot of nostalgic value for me. I am particularly thrilled that the knights come with both helmets and hair pieces. The amazing detailing and sheer number of accessories easily land this set 100% for minifig design. However, you get a lot of weapons, pots and pans, and other medieval household goods. Two of them feature double-sided faces as well. Additionally, they all have front and back printed torsos as well as leg printing. Each one is complete with all the standard minifig parts. Medieval Blacksmith comes with four Minifigures. Since this is a display piece, neither of those issues will likely cause me much grief moving forward. The back rest on each is an exceptionally flimsy build. A second lesser structural issue is the chairs around the dinner table. Just building the set, the tree fell apart three times because of me tapping it by accident. The only aspect of the set that I do not like is the durability of the apple tree. The only downside is that it requires a lot of specialized tiles that I have yet to see on the Pick-And-Build wall at the LEGO® Store. I can see myself using this technique again in a MOC. Additionally, the way the pieces fit together to achieve a slope is clever, as is the way in which the slopes fit in place in the frame. In terms of new build techniques, the roof sticks out as a great one. The Medieval Blacksmith (21325) features an amazing roofing technique. Additionally, one side of the roof lifts off to access the bedroom. Of course, the entire structure is modular. The top floor houses a bedroom with a bearskin rug. Up one level is the main living area with a kitchen and dining table. This model building kit for adults to build and display has a removable roof and the top 2. The architectural details of a 3-level building display model from the Middle Ages are lovingly recreated in LEGO style. The forge has a light brick built in, allowing the coals to glow. Take a break from modern life with this magnificent LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith (21325) large building set for adults. The ground floor features the actual blacksmith shop. Each floor offers fun and believable details for an era piece like this. Medieval Blacksmith is a marvelous set and I like almost everything about it. As such, this week the set is up for review.Ĭlick here to read about how I rate sets. Luckily, I did because the set is now out of stock at. Simply chomping at the bit, I stayed up until midnight on January 31 to ensure that I got a copy of this set the moment it was released. The announcement brought about the same child-like glee I felt last year with the announcement of Pirates of Barracuda Bay. On top of that, Medieval Blacksmith comes with two Black Falcon knights. Lego Medieval Castle Fantasy Era Gold Knight From Set 7079 PEARL GOLD VISOR. Consequently, a return to Castles interests me greatly. In fact, my first themed LEGO® set was Black Falcon’s Fortress (6074). I grew up with the Castles and Pirates themes of the 1980s.
